In December, the Ambassadors Club invited to its traditional charity event “Angel Tree” hosted at The Regent hotel at the Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin. The president of the club, Dr. h.c. Mania Feilcke-Dierck, together with the General Manager Stefan Athmann, welcomed the numerous excellencies from all over the world, as well as many guests from politics, society and culture.
As every year, the event was under a prominent patronage. This year it was taken over by Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Prime Minister of the Saarland. The patron also has the honor of selecting the project, which must focus on helping children in difficult life situations. This year, the Prime Minister selected the children‘s home St. Nikolaus Hospital in Wallerfangen, Saarland.
As the Prime Minister unfortunately could not be present in person, she was represented by her head of the State Chancellery and plenipotentiary of Saarland at the Federal Government, State Secretary Jürgen Lennartz. Second guest speaker of the evening was the member of the Bundestag Michael Theurer, Deputy Chairman of the FDP fraction.
